Future work
The common thread underlying my work experience is taking a human-centered approach to understanding what motivates us and parsing out insights that shape future strategy. I’ve spent years in both the nonprofit and high tech spaces, and I’m interested in combining my passion for sustainability and the environment with the professional skills I’ve acquired in the private sector.
If you think our styles would mesh, let’s chat.
Professional Experience
Facebook + Instagram
2015-2022
My work at Facebook gave me the chance to understand human behavior at the largest scale imaginable. As a Product Specialist, I was deployed to different teams and charged with advocating for our users and solving for operational gaps within product teams. My projects ranged from defining a framework for technical excellence for the Pages team to designing and executing an image quality study for the team building the Instagram camera. My favorite work combined user research, delivering strategic insights to the product team, and setting high bars for product quality. A crowning achievement during my time at Facebook: I was featured on the Jumbotron on campus for driving product work that protected women business owners on Facebook who were victims of online harassment.
Net Impact
2012-2015
I was drawn to an organization whose existence hinged on the idea that profit and the planet can go hand-in-hand. At Net Impact, I launched an online experiential learning platform, Projects for Good, to connect students with nonprofits and social enterprises that needed additional capacity to complete projects. Through a combination of design thinking, strategic partnerships, user research, and nonprofit scrappiness, I executed the zero-to-one launch of the platform, connecting over 2,000 students with meaningful projects in an 18-month period.
Dartmouth College
2008-2012
I majored in Environmental Studies and minored in Public Policy with a focus on Public Health Policy. My major fell into place after I studied abroad in New Zealand and knew that I needed to play a part in both understanding the natural world and motivating people to take care of the environment. I’m fascinated by human behavior and what makes us tick, and understanding how we might be nudged in the direction of doing the right thing for the environment and ourselves felt like a noble task.
